UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE), in collaboration with the Tourism India Alliance - TIA and the U.S. Commercial Service India, hosted a high-level "Roundtable on Battery Safety in the Travel and Tourism Sector in India" at the American Centre in New Delhi.
The landmark event, themed Reducing the Risk of Thermal Runaway Incidents in Air Travel, gathered top industry regulators, safety experts, and key stakeholders to address the growing risks associated with lithium-ion batteries and rechargeable passenger electronics.
Ms. Syeda Borchmeyer, Acting Principal Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy New Delhi provided the opening remarks. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Swati Singh, Head of Regional Standards for South Asia at ULSE, and co-chaired by Mr. Jagdeep Bhagat, President of the Tourism India Alliance.
